Innocent Idols
Sometimes God feels absent. Inattentive. Unaware of our struggles or heartache. It can be excruciating. And often, it leaves us feeling like our only choice is to take action on our own, to find a way to solve the problem or soothe the ache. But perhaps this is a mistake. Maybe the reality is that God is working in the background, right in the messy middle of our situations. Maybe, just maybe, we don’t have to turn to impotent idols after all…
